Mahindra XUV bookings reopening from 8th June12

After a long wait of over 3 months, the country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra &Mahindra is all set to reopen the bookings of its highly successful premium SUV – XUV 500 – in the Indian market. The company has announced that it will be reopening the bookings for XUV 500 from 8th June throughout the country.

In the first two rounds of bookings, which were held for a few days in October’11 and Feburary’12, the company has already sold over 9 months productionof this SUV. In a bid to cater the high demand in the country, the company has ramped-up the production capacity of XUV 500 to 4,000 vehicles per month, almost doubling the initial capacity at the time of the launch of this vehicle in the Indian market.

In a recent statement, Mr. Pravin Shah, Mahindra & Mahindra’s Chief Executive (Automotive Division), said, "We have been inundated with requests for re-opening of bookings not just from existing cities but also from cities where the XUV500 was not available. Now that we have ramped-up our production capacity significantly, we are confident that we will be able to take care of the growing all-India demand for the XUV500."
