Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), India’s leading Utility Vehicle (UV) manufacturer, has started retrofitting a new brake pad and pedal in its flagship model XUV500. The move is taken after registering a number of complains from users regarding spongy and noisy braking in their respective models. Mahindra XUV500 received an overwhelming response not only by the domestic buyers, but also remained a hit all over the world. According to company officials, the model is believed to be a global product and thus, it has been introduced in a number of auto markets across the globe. Interestingly, XUV500 happens to be the first model of M&M that features a monocoque design. Reportedly, XUV500 was the first model from M&M, which marked presence with front wheel drive option in the country. When the model was re-launched in 2011, it was counted among one of the hottest launches of the Indian auto sector.

Industry experts believe that with the incorporation of a new brake pedal, featuring an all new design for improved efficiency, the auto maker will surely remove the dent from the niche of its remarkable model. According to sources, the new brake pads are sourced from Bosch, which are now sure to remove the erstwhile issues. However, it is not yet confirmed that when the retrofitted model will be rolled out from the production plant of the auto maker.

Besides, individuals experiencing an unresponsive brake in their XUV500 can visit the nearest service centre of Mahindra and get a cost-free upgrade, under warranty.
