Most of Mahindra TUV300 customers had given a feedback stating the compact SUV feels a little underpowered, especially on the highways. To address the issue, the company has been planning on introducing the more powerful mHawk100 engine in the TUV300 which is borrowed from the recently launched NuvoSport. The upgraded TUV 300 will continue to be offered in manual and AMT options.

The currently sold Mahindra TUV300 is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, that generates 84bhp power and 230Nm torque. This indeed makes it much slower than its competitors which offer over 90bhp of power outputs. Post upgrade, the TUV300 powered by 1.5-litre mHawk100, will generate about 100bhp of power and 240Nm of peak torque.

The upgraded TUV300 will not get any feature or cosmetic upgrade for now, except for a new badge. However, with the more powerful engine in place, we can expect to witness a slight dip in fuel efficiency. Currently, the vehicle claims to return a fuel efficiency figure of 18.47 kmpl. On the pricing aspect, no hike is expected as of now. Inclusions if any, will be known in the coming days.
