Mahindra’s TUV300 is the company’s latest compact SUV that has entered the Indian car market. This new SUV is competing against the Ford Ecosport and its own sibling, the Quanto. The Mahindra TUV300 is a compact SUV and is a seven-seater in the offering. It has been built on a ladder chassis and this is what makes it rugged.

The TUV300 is powered by a new 1.5-litre mHawk80 engine that churns about 84bhp of power and comes mated to a five-speed manual or AMT (automated manual transmission). This is a new engine that has been designed for better power and fuel efficiency too. This engine has been designed by Mahindra and Ssangyong, while the AMT box has been made by Mahindra with inputs from Ricardo. Mahindra has certainly done a great job with the engine’s refinement.

The space on the TUV300 is certainly good and it can seat five in comfort, while the last two seats are for children. The TUV300 gets features like in-built music system with bluetooth, aux and USB, reverse parking sensors, steering mounted audio controls, dual airbags and ABS too. These make the TUV300 a good option to consider. It doesn’t get as many features as competition, but the USPs of the TUV300 are its space, power and fuel efficiency. The pricing of the TUV300 is just fine, however what works out in its favour is its styling and the ability to seat seven-people despite having a foot print of less than four metres. So, if you are out to buy a compact SUV and need better flexibility with regards to boot space and seating, something that is rugged, the TUV300 should be your choice.
