      Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX produced between May-Nov 2013

      India’s largest UV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a recall for the EX trim of its popular SUV, Scorpio. Scorpio EX produced between May 2013 and November 2013 will be recalled for a possible fault in pressure regulating valves. Prior to this, the company had recalled 900 units of Scorpio EX in December 2013 for the same reason. The recent recall will be done as a part of inspection to make sure that EX trim produced during the above mentioned time do not have the same fault. Customers will be informed by the company or will be notified by authorized dealers. Replacement will be done free of cost if any of the unit of Scorpio EX will be found with faulty pressure regulating valves.

      The previous recall was also conducted on Scorpio EX units manufactured between October 2013 and November 2013. Other than Scorpio, Mahindra had also conducted recall for its other popular SUV, XUV 500 produced in 2011 and 2012.

      Mahindra & Mahindra is currently witnessing stagnancy in monthly sales for last couple of months, this indicates at the need of launch of either a facelifted version of a current model or bringing in a new product in Indian automotive market. Sources reveal that Scorpio facelift in underway and is likely to be launched in domestic market by early next year.
