The Mahindra XUV300 will be launched in India tomorrow. It’s a new compact SUV from the Indian automaker and is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli, but this one is in a sub-4 guise in keeping with the regulations. We have already driven the diesel powered XUV300 and you can read about that here. We also know what is being offered on each variant as the feature list was leaked and you can read about that here.

The XUV300 will be the first vehicle in the segment to offer features like disc brakes all around, dual zone climate control with memory function and steering modes. In addition, the top-of-the-line model also gets white and black interiors, 7.0-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as well as a reverse parking aid. All variants of the car get four airbags and ABS with EBD while the top—of-the-line W8 (O) variant gets seven airbags.

The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre turbo unit producing 110bhp/200Nm while the diesel is a 1.5-litre producing 115bhp and a segment topping 300Nm. Both engines can be had with a six-speed manual only. AMT will feature as an additional option which is expected to arrive only with the first planned update for the hatchback.

We expect that Mahindra will price the XUV300 in the range of Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs. It will compete against the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon and future models from Hyundai, Jeep and Kia.
