Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, M&M, stated, “At Mahindra we continuously strive to delight our customers with unique product offerings. The Verito Vibe marks our entry into the high volume sub-4 metre segment. We are confident that this product will be successful in delighting our customers with its young and sporty looks, without compromising the benefits that our existing Verito has to offer.”

According to speculations, the all new Verito Vibe is expected to be available at a starting price of around Rs. 6 lakh and will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 to name a few. It will be fitted with the 1.5 litre Renault diesel powertrain that currently powers the mid-size sedan Verito. The new model will also avail tax benefit owing to its sub-4 metre length and will be liable for only 12 per cent of tax as compared to 24-27 per cent levied cars longer than 4 metres.

Following its split with Renault around June 2010, M&M rebranded the Logan sedan as Verito in April 2011 with a facelifted version of the same launched in August, 2012. The Verito sedan brings in a volume of close to 1,500 units on a monthly basis. The foray into the hatchback segment is an attempt to lay off the risk on its utility vehicle segment. Notably, the UV segment is 45 per cent of the overall sales of the automobile manufacturer. Currently, the car making company is the largest in the UV segment with 47 per cent of the market share.
