Mahindra Scorpio proves it popularity with over 6000 unit sales within days of launch

Mahindra Scorpio is a name that has defined the SUV segment in India. Be it city streets of a metropolis or a remote locality where the term tarmac is unheard of, the Scorpio SUV from Mahindra has been ruling the streets for decades now. As a token of appreciation for its fan following in India, Mahindra has recently launched the facelifted version of its Scorpio SUV. Proving its popularitym the new Scorpio has already reported bookings of about 6060 units in just about five days of its launch.

The new Mahindra Scorpio is loaded with new set of features like GPS, rain and light sensors and automatic climate control. For convenience Mahindra has provided electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steering mounted audio controls. For an enhanced driving experience the new Scorpio gets cruise control function. As for safety the new Scorpio gets features like ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors. On the technological front the new Mahindra Scorpio SUV continues to be powered by a 2.5 litre, four cylinder, m2DiCr, turbocharged common rail diesel engine and delivers impressive power output of about 75 bhp at 3200 Rpm and delivers a peak torque output of about 200 Nm between 1400 to 2200 RPM.

Entertainment of occupants are well taken care of by the 6 inch touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth, DVD, USB and AUX-in capability. Overall braking has been improved with ventilated disc brakes for the front, and drum brakes for the rear. The driver and front passenger also gets airbags. The front facia has received aggressively styled headlamps with projector lights that has been integrated with LED running lamps.
