Mahindra will be launching the XUV100 or the S101 in January. The new micro-SUV from Mahindra will be their smallest SUV/crossover. This new vehicle will also be powered by a new range of engines, 1.2-litre both for petrol and diesel. These have been developed by Mahindra and Ssangyong jointly. There will even an AMT (automated manual transmission) version too. The S101 is one of the few products for which Mahindra has developed a petrol engine. These set of engines will be the smallest ever used on any Mahindra.

The Mahindra XUV100 has a monocoque body and this will be five-seater crossover. It will be competing with the Hyundai i20 Active and the Fiat Avventura. This new crossover will be targeting first time car buyers and majorly urban commuters. The S101 will be priced between Rs 4-8 lakhs (ex-showroom price). The new crossover will be manufactured in Mahindra’s Chakan plant and will be made available in dealerships by mid-January.

The Mahindra S101 will come with features like in-dash music system with bluetooth, USB and aux. The new S101 will be making its way into a segment that has been growing rapidly. With regards to safety it will be getting dual airbags and ABS as well.
