      Mahindra Reva e2o gets a new top variant in India

      Mahindra Reva e2o has been the country only electric car that has been successfully launched in the country last year. This time around the Indian carmaker has come-up with a new top end, T2o variant. The T2o is launched at an attractive price tag of about Rs. 6.14 lakhs (Ex-showroom Mumbai). With this, now the current variants available with e2o are - To1, T2 and T2o. The website has also put up a notification stating that the T2 and T2o variant shall also receive a power steering functionality.

      Mahindra Reva e2o is blessed with the patented REVive technology that allows you to remotely activate the reserve power with just a call or use of a Smart-phone application. The electric car with a compact structure comes with a mere turning radius of about 3.9 meters. The heavy body weight of about 830 kgs is now easier to manage with the introduction of power steering function. Moreover, the car is built using ABS body panels that are high impact dent and scratch resistant.

      Chetan Maini, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, said, What we are doing with the scheme is bringing down the cost of acquisition while we guarantee the customers battery performance coupled with inflation proof running costs. We will own the battery, all that the customer needs to do is pay a monthly fee. Commenting on the reason for the discount, Maini said, We have had a lot of customers who liked the car but were deterred by the cost. Now with this, we hope we will make it more affordable for them and push up sales.

      The new T2o is capable of charging itself in just about 60 minutes and attain speeds of up to 81 km/hr with a runtime of about 120 kms. The T2 takes slightly longer to charge and can attain efficiency and performance figures like the top-end variant. The To1 takes about 4 hours of charging time and can attain speeds of upto 75 km/hr and cover a distance of about 80 kms on a full charge. The base variant is offered at a starting price tag of about Rs. 4.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Mumbai).
