Mahindra Quanto’s facelift version has been spotted on test as the Indian utility manufacturer has been looking at adding more compact SUVs to its portfolio. Mahindra’s Quanto was the company’s first compact SUV, however it didn’t do that well as it was expected by the company. The Qunato facelift will be launched this year but it will be coming in the first half of 2016.

The Quanto facelift gets a new front grille, re-designed head lamps with LEDs, even the tail lamps have LEDs. The Quanto is certainly getting a major revamp including the interior as well. There will be a new range of features like touchscreen system, voice command, automatic headlamps and maybe even rain sensing wipers as well.

The Quanto’s chassis will be fine-tuned for better ride and handling as well. It will be powered by an all new 1.5-litre diesel engine that has been jointly developed by Mahindra and Ssangyong. This will be producing about 100bhp of power and will come with a five-speed manual and AMT option. The Quanto will be more powerful and expensive than the TUV300. It will be the SUV for urban car buyers, who need style, features and at the same time the ability to drive on bad roads as well.
