      Mahindra & Mahindras first technical center inaugurated in US

      The country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra has opened their first technical center in the US. The new technical center is aimed at providing design and consulting services to the company’s automotive customers and their operations will be majorly operating in the Michigan region.

      Speaking on the development, Mr. Rajan Wadhera, Mahindra Group Chief Executive (Technology, Product Development and Sourcing -- Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors), said, "This new Technology Center will serve as a base for Mahindra to address the engineering demand for our automotive and farm engineering requirements together with our Global Development Center in India."

      Initially, the new facility of the company will be employing around 25 engineers, which will be gradually doubled in number in the coming years. In North America, the total workforce of the company is around 100, out of which 60 percent are the US nationals.

      On the inauguration of new technical center, the company said in a statement published on their website, "Mahindra inaugurated its new Technical Center in Troy, Michigan today. This facility is the company's first technical center in USA and will leverage Michigan's large automotive talent pool to provide design and consulting services for Mahindra's automotive customers in the region."
