India’s renowned SUV manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) has disclosed that an A/C version of its famous off-roader ‘Thar’ is now available in the market. The Thar CRDe 4X4 BS4 is now available at a price tag of Rs. 6.75 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai). With its refined powerful CRDe diesel engine, classic lines and capable 4X4 underpinnings, this vehicle has presented itself as an ideal 4X4 vehicle.
The company has incorporated an air-conditioner/heater in the car, which will prove useful during the summer and winter months. A digital immobiliser in the Thar CRDe will provide protection from thefts. The Thar Expedition, which is a customised variant of this car, has been unveiled. It is capable of delivering excellent performance on all types of terrains. Advanced equipment of the Thar includes rock sliders, roll cage, and customised front bulbar featuring integrated electric winch. These equipment enhances the off-roading capability of the vehicle.

The trusted 4X4 off-roader targets the retro look seekers, off-roading enthusiasts and those who want to create a style statement. In both rural and urban areas, the Thar plays an important role in providing proper shape to the lifestyle segment.
The Mahindra Thar is among those vehicles, which have an iconic status and a legendary past. Loaded with a powerful CRDe engine, the Thar boasts of 105 bhp. Due to drive by wire technology, variable speed and acceleration is attained by the car.
Optimisation is done to the tough rigid ladder frame chassis for handling excess power. The Thar has a responsive and light power steering, which gives better manoeuvrability to the vehicle. New in this segment are the abuse resistant rear leaf springs and modern suspension layout of IFS, which are present in the Thar. Due to these features, balance between handling and ride is maintained.

The stylish off-roader, Thar CRDe is an improved version of the MM 540, Mahindra CJ340, the Legend and the Classic. Being a Mahindra vehicle, the Thar CRDe is stronger, fuel efficient and more powerful. Cabin of this off-roader can accommodate seven people whereas the two rear bench seats present in the vehicle can be folded to create maximum luggage space.
Available in BS IV variant, the Thar CRDe has a power steering, which is its inbuilt feature. Customers can also book the accessorised vehicles and go for customisation options. In the base variant of the Thar, a DI engine is fitted. As a lifestyle vehicle, Mahindra & Mahindra has positioned the Thar in both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive options in the rural market.
