      Mahindra &Mahindra plans to make Russia a big exporting market in coming years

      The country’s largest vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to start selling their vehicles in the Russian market in the coming two years. The company is looking forward to make the Russia a major exporting destination in the coming years.

      Speaking to the analysts in a press conference, Mr. Pawan Goenka, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) President (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors), said, "We are working on the Russian market for our vehicles to export from here. This may not happen immediately. It will take one and half to two years from now."

      According to the company, Russia will be a big market for the company in the coming years. Currently, M&M’s South Korean Subsidiary SSangyong sell’s their one global portfolio vehicles through CKD (Completely Knocked Down Units) route.

      The company registered a growth on 37 percent in the exports in first quarter of this financial year, with selling a total of 7,841 units of their vehicles as compared to 5,717 units sold in the same period last year. The company has witnessed a robust growth in the exports in the countries like Australia, Brazil, Chile, Nepal, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
