Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd, a division of popular Indian SUV vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra had launched the global unisex 'Gusto' scooter a while ago everywhere except in certain states. This time around Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. has ventured into Kerala and Karnataka markets. In Bengaluru, the Gusto scooter has been launched at introductory price of about Rs 48,400 for the base model, whereas the top end Gusto Vx variant is priced at Rs 50,400.
Speaking more on the launch event in Bengaluru, Viren Popli, Chief of Operations, Mahindra Two Wheelers said, "The Gusto is Mahindra’s first ground-up scooter developed entirely in house. Based on deep consumer insights, it deploys innovative technology to create a category defining product, which will provide exceptional value to customers looking for a 110cc scooter. After winning the hearts in North & West India, Gusto is being launched in Karnataka in time for the festive occasion and start of New Year." Commenting further Dharmendra Mishra, Vice President for sales and customer Care, Mahindra Two Wheelers said, "The Italian styled Gusto is powered by the smooth & fuel efficient M-TEC engine. It is India’s first scooter with a Height Adjustable Seat. The telescopic suspension with air springs and 12- inch wheels give it a best-in-class ride experience. Other category-first features like Remote Flip Key, Find-Me Lamps and bright Halogen Head Lamp with LED Pilot Lamps, create amazing value."
Speaking about launch in Kerala, Sarosh Shetty, Vice President Marketing said, “we are hopeful that there will be significant demand. There is lot of demand from dealers. Signs are good. In Kerala, 30,000 units are sold a month and we expect 40-50 per cent business to come from south.” The scooter from Mahindra indeed sports a distinctive styling that comes from origins in Italy.
