In an effort to provide a better all-electric car, the popular utility vehicle maker Mahindra has launched the new e20Plus in the country at Rs 5.46 (ex-showroom, Delhi). As the name suggests, the new four-door all electric hatchback comes with better charging capability, more space and a bigger distance covering range than the regular e2o. The new model is available in three trims P4, P6 and the top-spec P8.
The new model comes with fresh design upgrades and gets a revised front and rear section for freshness. Powered by a 3 phase AC Induction motor which generates 25bhp (19KW), the vehicle is capable of covering distances of about 110kms to 140kms for the top-spec version. Owing to mechanical tweaks in the electric motor of the P8 trim, it is capable of attaining a top speed of 85kmph, while the other two models attain a top speed of 80kmph. Additionally, the top-spec version is capable of doing a 0-100kmph in about 9.5 seconds, while the base two versions take about 14.1 seconds.
When charged by a 16 Amp charger, the P4 and P6 takes about six hours, while on a 32 Amp charger it takes about 75 minutes. As for the top-spec P8 variant, it takes about nine hours to charge on a 16 Amp charger, while on a 32 Amp charger it takes about 90 minutes. The variant wise prices (ex-showroom-Delhi) are as follows –
