Back in June, the TUV300 was spotted on test with a longer wheel base. This time around, the Indian car manufacturer Mahindra, has filed an application to trademark the ‘TUV300 Plus’ name. The ‘Plus’ tag denotes the longer wheel base. As compared to the standard TUV300, the new TUV300 Plus will offer more features and space.

Mechanically, the TUV300 Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine which currently serves the XUV500 and the Scorpio. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the vehicle generates about 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. Although the recently spotted vehicle was heavily camouflaged, it could be seen that the extended tail section resembled its older siblings to accommodate the third row seat. This time around, the third row seats are expected to be front facing in contrast to the older jump seat pattern.

Along with more space, the interior of the upcoming TUV300 Plus is expected to be tweaked for freshness and will incude a touchscreen infotainment system on the higher variant. The new model might also carry forward most of the features and equipment from the existing model. The pricing aspect and other details will be known over the next few months. However, we believe it might cost an additional Rs 50,000 – Rs 1,00,000 over the regular model.
