Mahindra Tractors, sold under the Farm Equipment Sector (FES) of the Mahindra group, registered a sales figure of 19,757 units for the month of November 2012. Reports suggest, sales prospects at end of the year seem to be promising for Mahindra’s FES. FES division has witnessed a growth of 22 per cent during November 2012, as compared with sales of 16,175 units recorded in the same month of last year.

Additionally, the company has registered exports of 719 units from its FES division during November 2012. The company recorded a surge of 17 per cent in combined sales from domestic and exports sector at 20,476 units during November 2012, as against 17,527 units sold in same month of 2011.

The new sales figure has come as a shot in arm for Mahindra & Mahindra FES, as the company witnessed a decline of 19 per cent in units sold during September 2012, as compared to those in September 2011.

Evidently, the demand for farm equipments has risen in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which witnessed a good monsoon season this year. Hence, demand for quality and robust tractors is expected to see some surge in the state.

Reportedly, despite the economic downturn and varied monsoon season, sales recorded in the farm equipment sector for the month of November 2012 are still higher than those recorded last year. Hence, one can expect more tractors to be sold during the ongoing Rabi sowing season, where Mahindra FES can capitalise its market position.
