Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest utility vehicle maker in the Indian market, has announced a jump of 23 percent in the month of April 2011. The company managed to sell 32,090 units of its cars in the Indian market this April.
In the domestic market, the company registered a sales jump of 21 percent. Mahindra & Mahindra managed to sell 30,349 units of its vehicles in the Indian market during the month as compared to 25,037 units sold in the same month last year. The passenger vehicles of the company including the utility vehicles like Bolero, Xylo and Scorpio, and entry level sedan Verito (erstwhile Logan) registered an increase of 20 percent to 15,459 units in the month of April as compared to 12,923 units sold in April 2010.
In a statement given on the occasion, M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division)) Rajesh Jejurikar said, "We are happy with the 23 per cent growth that we have clocked in April. All our brands have been doing well and with recent launches such as Verito, Maxximo Mini Van and Gio compact cab, we hope to further consolidate our position in these segments."
The exports of the company surged to 1,741 vehicles during the month as compared to 856 units dispatched to the overseas markets same month last year. The exports of the company during the month include 150 units of Mahindra Verito model.
