      Luxury sedans, sports cars, electric vehicles, all capturing hearts at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show

      The 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show was opened to general public amid much fanfare and media interest on November 30, 2012. The ten day long automobile fiesta is eagerly awaited by car enthusiasts all over the world, because many visually enchanting and mesmerising products are unveiled at the auto salon. Accordingly, this year's edition has also generated immense build up towards some of the biggest sports and luxury car launches. The grapevine is abuzz with several big names enamouring the global audience in Los Angeles, such as Jaguar XFR-S, 2013 Porsche Cayman, BMW i3 concept and Subaru Forester amongst others.

      Hogging all the limelight at 2012 LA Auto Show, the new luxury sports sedan Jaguar XFR-S became favourite new baby of the global automotive fraternity in an instant. Pegged as the British luxury sports car making marque's second product in its ultra high performance range, the XFR-S is actually the fastest and most powerful sedan from stables of Jaguar. The XFR-S holds a supercharged V8 powerplant rated at a power output close to 550 bhp, which ensures the sedan zooms from standstill to 100 kmph in just 4.4 second. The super luxury sports sedan carries a price tag of $ 99,000 and will hit Jaguar's retail outlets in 2013 summer.

      After drawing extensive compliments and praise from automotive critics and admirers alike, the Subaru Forester premium crossover proved successful in luring crowd to company's pavilion at the auto salon. Further, the fourth generation of iconic Toyota RAV4 SUV, widely regarded as world's first true blood compact crossover, has also been unveiled at the Auto Show. The new crossover from stables of Japanese multinational automobile giant has been trimmed with an aggressive makeover along with an insanely powerful V6 engine delivering an unmatched efficiency and mileage. The new Toyota crossover is expected drive wild some major think tanks of its fellow Japanese player – Honda, whose CR-V SUV competes directly against RAV4.

      The fans and admirers of German automobile products are in for a treat as Porsche introduced the third generation of its uber-cool Cayman sports car. The 2013 Porsche Cayman is a two seater sports car and is offered in two prominent models – 2.7 litre and 3.4 litre. The power performance of 2.7 litre Cayman is rated at 275 bhp, while the 3.4 litre

      Cayman S delivers an astonishing output of 325 bhp raw power. Further, the 2013 Porsche Cayman S can hit 100 kmph mark in just 4.4 seconds, thereby underlining its cutting edge German DNA and design attributes. Like Jaguar XFR-S, the Porsche Cayman also hits retail stores in the summer of 2013, around a cost of $ 55,000.

      BMW, the ultra modish luxury and sports car manufacturer, unveiled its i3 concept battery powered vehicle featuring an all carbon fibre body, instead of conventional steel frame. The electric motor installed under-the-hood of BMW i3 concept delivers a mean power output close to 170 bhp. However, the German auto maker has not yet revealed any details regarding when will the car see its commercial foray.

      Among other breathtaking additions to the global auto fraternity, prominent ones are an electric version of Chevrolet Spark hatch, Mazda6 sedan and reworked models of Honda Civic and Acura RL sedans. Further, the iconic Fiat 500 mini car has been unveiled in its electric vehicle avatar. The battery powered variant of the legendary Italian made Fiat 500 small car is anticipated to see commercial launch somewhere in middle of 2013 calendar year.
