Nissan’s low cost brand Datsun will launch its first product, Go hatchback in India today. Dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the Go hatchback at a minimum token amount of Rs. 11,000, which is refundable. Following webcast will reveal all the variants, details and prices of Datsun GO

The vehicle is likely to be priced around 3-4 lakh and is expected to be offered in three variants. Under the hood, the Datsun Go hatchback gets the 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does its duty in the Micra Active. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 64bhp and 104Nm of top torque. Power is distributed to front wheels via a five speed manual transmission gearbox.

Based on the old Nissan Micra platform, the Datsun Go is spacious enough to provide a comfortable seat for five passengers. Dimensionally, the hatchback is 3785mm long, 1635mm wide and 1485mm high. The vehicle comes equipped with features like front power windows, power steering, air conditioning and mobile docking system. However, it misses out on safety features such as airbags, anti-lock braking system and others.

It will directly compete against the likes of Maruti Alto K10, Hyundai Eon, Chevrolet Spark, Maruti Celerio and others in the segment. Read our first drive review of the Datsun GO here
