      Lionel Messi is the brand ambassador for Tata Motors

      Proving all the rumours right, Tata Motors has finally confirmed that it has assigned Lionel Messi, the popular Argentina footballer, as its global brand ambassador for passenger cars. The company has released first images of the footballer adoring Tata Motors t-shirt, and started a promotional campaign called - #madeofgreat. This association campaign is inspired with thought of ‘What drives us from within is what makes us great’. Besides this, the home-grown carmaker will soon introduce an exclusive merchandising range under this association.    

      The company is all set to launch the much-awaited hatchback – the Tata Kite – in India by the end of this year. The vehicle will be available with two engine options – the Bolt’s 1.2-liter Revotron petrol and an all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel. While the former churns out a maximum power of 88.8bhp with 140Nm of torque, the latter one is expected to deliver 70bhp of power with 140Nm of torque. Both the engines will be matched to a five-speed manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox.

      Based on Tata’s new HorizonNext philosophy, the Tata Kite will get a new signature grille with the ‘Humanity Line’, sloping rear windshield, defogger in circular pattern, headlights, and an integrated rear spoiler. As far as features are concerned, the hatchback will be equipped with a short-diameter 3-spoke steering wheel, an integrated 2-DIN music system, center console with rectangular AC vents and A-Pillars integrated tweeters, the Bolt/ Zest – inspired gearlever, glovebox and door with beige inserts and dashboard with black plastic finish on the upper side.
