Italian automaker Piaggio recently unveiled a limited edition version of the much-acclaimed scooter Vespa VX, which is being called the Vespa Elegante. Though no mechanical changes have been made to the two-wheeler, the scooter has been given some cosmetic upgrades to make it an attractive and new package in the festive season. According to reports, after unveiling the model in Pune, the firm is expected to launch the model by 20th September, just a little before the festive season begins.
Piaggio Vespa Elegante is inspired by the Vespa Primavera, the firm’s flagship model in the European market. Featuring a smart triangular front grille, chrome guards and round headlight, this scooter looks quite distinct from the regular Vespa. Main exclusive additions made to this limited edition scooter are new chrome grill, two new metallic colours, colour coordinated leather finished twin seats, special edition badge and all round chrome guard kit.
Mechanical configuration of the two-wheeler remain the same with a 125-cc engine single cylinder fitted inside, delivering maximum power of 9 BHP and top torque of 10.06 Nm. This scooter features automatic CVT transmission and steel monocoque single sided suspension systems, all same as the regular version of Piaggio Vespa. This scooter is going to be available in two metallic colours including Marrone Crete Senesi and Bianco Perla.
