Lexus unveils the new NX SUV in India

This is the first time the NX is being showcased in India. The NX is based on the new MC platform and shares a few components with Toyota’s hugely successful RAV4 SUV. It adopts the new age edgy styling that underlines all new Lexus cars marked by the large spindle-shaped mesh grille in the front. The busy contoured fascia gets swept back headlamps and LED DRLs. Moving on to the sides, the snazzy contours continue while the flared wheel arches give it the required muscle. The dominant shoulder line extends to the boot and is underlined by the wrap-around tail lamps. Inside, the Lexus carries forward the busy design scheme with the contoured centre console and an array of buttons and switches. Being a Lexus, the NX is luxurious and hence the high quality leather upholstery is standard. And along with it, the bells and whistles as well. Steering mounted audio controls, three-zone climate control and a large display screen are all standard. The Lexus NX is small but there is enough space for all the five occupants inside and the power adjustable front seats make it much more comfortable.

The Lexus NX will be offered in the 300h setup which is hybrid. It comes with a 2.5-litre inline four cylinder petrol engine that works in consonance with an electric motor with a combined output of 194bhp of power and comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The NX will be offered in two trims – the F Sport and Luxury and we can expect a Rs 60 lakhs to Rs 65 lakhs price tag.
