The Lexus RX is a five-seater crossover SUV and is one of the first Lexus cars launched in India. The RX is available in two trims - Luxury and F-Sport both priced at Rs 1.07 crore and 1.09 crore ex-showroom in India. Being CBUs, the on-road prices will be higher as well thanks to the taxation policies. If you are planning to buy either of these, you might have looked at a few options already. Here are a few more.

The Lexus RX competes with the likes of the BMW X6 and the Mercedes GLE Coupe. In India, you get the GLE 450 AMG Coupe for just Rs 90 lakh. Minus Rs 7 lakh more and you get the largest SUV this side of a crore rupees – the Mercedes-Benz GLS. It will seat seven comfortably and you can opt for the diesel one as well. At Rs 94 lakh, you get the Land Cruiser Prado, again a seven seater but a grossly overpriced workhorse.

Next in line come the luxury saloons – Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Jaguar XJ L. The Jaguar comes in at Rs 1 crore while the other three will cost you between Rs 1.1 to 1.2 crore, ex-showroom. But since all of these are CKDs, the on-road prices will be lower than the Lexus RXs. Considering the amount of space, features and luxury these limousines offer, the RX hardly stands a chance.

Porsche offers you the top-of-the-line Macan Turbo for Rs 1.11 crore and will give you 100bhp of power more from the 3.6-litre V6 and the fabled Porsche dynamics. The bigger Porsche, the Cayenne, also starts its range below Rs 1.1 crore where you get the Cayenne diesel or the Cayenne S petrol. You also have the Jeep grand Cherokee in the same price bracket as the Lexus RX. The Cherokee Summit and the SRT are good options for the Lexus if you like the American brawlers.

You can spend a little bit more than the Lexus and you will get the Range Rover Sport and we certainly do not need to tell you a lot about the world’s favourite luxury SUV. You would certainly want to have a look at the Jaguar F-Pace. At Rs 1.18 crore, you get R-Sport with the 296bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and a massive 700Nm of torque on the leash.

Finally, you can choose fast motoring as well with the Porsche 718 twins and buy a Hyundai Tucson for your commute or for that matter the Mercedes SLC 43 AMG or the BMW Z4.
