Lexus has launched the LX570 in India and has priced it at Rs 2.32 crores. This is a new top-of-the-line petrol model of the Japanese automaker’s flagship SUV and is the second offering in the LX range of cars. Like the other cars in Lexus range, this vehicle is a full CBU.

In terms of appearance, both on the inside and outside, the LX is identical to its diesel powered sibling. Highlights on the outside include the massive Lexus chrome grille, square profile and wrap around tail lamps with chrome inserts. The interior is done fully in leather with multi-zone climate control, touch screen infotainment system with a floating display, and the option to have everything electrically adjustable both in the front and rear.

The petrol engine is a massive 5.7-litre V8 producing 383bhp/546Nm with power going to all four wheels via an automatic gearbox and a Toyota developed AWD system. You get various driving modes like Eco, Sport and comfort as well as adaptive variable suspension. The safety suite includes 10 airbags, pre-collision system, land departure alert, ABS with EBD as well as traction control.

Both versions of the LX (diesel and petrol) are priced very similarly and this gives them the same rivals. As direct competition, you have Range Rover in the V8 Autobiography, SDV8 Autobiography LWB and the V8 petrol autobiography LWB. You can also look at the Lamborghini Urus, but it is a completely different ball game when it comes to SUVs. Pushing performance further, you can also have the GLS63 AMG which is priced at Rs 1.91 crores. Other vehicles in this price range include the Mercedes Maybach S560, Maserati Gran Cabrio, Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo Cabriolet, Audi R8, BMW i8, BMW X6 M and the BMW M760Li XDrive.
