Rejoicing one successful year of Grand i10 in domestic market, local arm of South Korean auto giant, Hyundai has launched 1st anniversary edition of the hatchback. Christened ‘SportZ Edition’, the anniversary edition has been rolled out right ahead of the festive season, giving customers more options to pick from Hyundai India’s vehicle range. SportZ Edition has been spawned in both petrol and diesel engine options priced at Rs 5.11 lakh and Rs 5.98 lakh (ex-showroom price) respectively. In its one year itinerary, the hatchback roped in 1.1 lakh unit sales emerging a popular choice in its segment.
Modifications made in the SportZ edition include 14-inch Diamond cut Alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, leather wrap on steering wheel, rear spoiler, and B-Pillar blackout along with body graphics. Cabin gets sport premium full-cloth upholstery in tones of red. Mechanically the anniversary edition is identical to the usual variant and gets power from the 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine that return 18.9 kms of mileage on a litre. Diesel variant houses a U2 1.1 litre CRDi diesel powertrain that delivers a promising fuel economy of 24 kmpl.
Hyundai’s recently inducted Elite i20 hatchback is also raking in good numbers in terms of sales. Within 20 days of its launch, Elite i20 has bagged 15300 bookings outnumbering Grand i10 and Xcent that roped in 10,000 and 11,000 unit sales in one month. The company is now gearing to foray in compact SUV segment with ix25 in India. Widening its product range will help the car maker to expand its foothold in India.
