Reports regarding the launch of the new Yamaha Fazer have been doing rounds for quite some time now and spy pictures of a test mule have been circulating around the internet, thereby adding substantiation to the rumours. All these factors indicate that the new Yamaha Fazer would soon be introduced in the Indian market.

Yamaha has already launched the FI version 2.0 of its models FZ and FZ-S, which have got a pretty decent response from industry experts and analysts. It is being said that the launch of Yamaha Fazer FI variant is imminent given how well the model has done in India and as a result, the firm would want to capitalise on its success. A street bike in its own right, Fazer has loved by customers for its looks, engine and performance.

The spy pictures of the Yamaha Fazer FI version, uploaded by a website called Throttlequest, depict that the changes made by the Japanese manufacturer in this bike are going to be majorly cosmetic. Mainly, Yamaha has restyled the fairing of this bike by extending it a bit and also given a sharper profile to the headlamp. In addition, the new model is likely to carry forward split seats, tank extensions, revised muffler, redesigned tail lamp and all-digital console.

Though nothing has been said yet, sources claim that Yamaha Fazer fuel injected version is going to enter the market in the festive season. However, the changes provided in the bike are going to be majorly cosmetic as mentioned above. In terms of mechanics, the new Fazer is expected to be powered by the same engine that produces an output of 12.1 bhp along with peak torque of 12.8 Nm. Just like the Yamaha FZ and FZ-S FI versions, this bike will also feature the much spoken about Yamaha Blue Core technology that will help it reduce the fuel consumption by 14 per cent. Although nothing is certain, it is expected that the new version of Yamaha Fazer will be priced around INR 82000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), making it slightly more expensive than its sibling.
