Mahindra & Mahindra, the country's largest utility vehicle maker, is all prepared for the launch of its much awaited Verito Vibe model in the India auto market. Reportedly, the upcoming hatchback from Mahindra & Mahindra has been already shipped to the official dealerships of the company, before its actual launch in the country. Industry experts are of a view that since the model has been sent to the showrooms of the auto maker, its bookings will be soon going to commence.
According to the sources close to the development process, the 2013 Verito Vibe will be a sub-four metre hatchback, which will be based on the manufacturing platform of Verito sedan. It is expected that the model will come assimilated with a 1.5 litre dCi diesel engine, which did a great job in the Verito sedan. This engine has the potential to churn out a maximum power of 64 bhp, along with a peak torque of 160 Nm. Adding to its performance, this engine will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission system, which will transmit all the power to front wheels of the car.
Interestingly, the name Vibe has been selected by the auto maker with a view of conveying an innovate feeling to the young buyers of the country. As per the company, the name Vibe will target the young and socially aware buyers of the country. Auto analysts are anticipating that the 2013 Mahindra Verito Vibe will be priced close to Rs 5 lakh and Rs. 7 lakh, which will assist in competing against the likes of Indica Vista, Maruti Swift, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra, among others.
