Tata Motors, the largest vehicle maker in the Indian market, is gearing-up to roll-out the popular Land Rover Evoque model in the global markets by early 2012. The company will be displaying a range of compact and fuel efficient vehicles of its British subsidiary Land Rover at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo in January 2012.
The land Rover Evoque model will hit the roads in the global market by early 2012, but its India launch is expected to be by the fall of the same year. The Evoque is a luxury compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) with five doors. The car will be taking on with the likes of Mercedes Benz SL class, Toyota Prado, BMW X5 and Audi Q7.
The company will be assembling the car at its newly established facility in Pune. This is Tata Motors first such facility in India where it will be assembling a number of Land Rover SUVs in the coming years.
In last few years, Jaguar & Land Rover has emerged as one of the fastest growing luxury car brands posting heavy profits and registering a steep growth in the sales in the world market. Tata Motors had acquired JLR from Ford in year 2008.
