The Italian sportscar marquee, Automobili Lamborghini has inaugurated its second outlet in Mumbai, India on 26th April 2012. The showroom was launched by Stephan Winkleman, Chairman, Lamborghini and Andrea Baldi, Head Asia. New outlet of Lamborghini is situated in Prabhadevi and is managed by Auto Hangar Group. This group is also held responsible for distributing the cars of Mercedes-Benz in India. Auto Hangar Group has carved a decent notch in the market since it offers quality services to its clients. With this new showroom, the company has located its first facility in Mumbai. Lamborghini’s first outlet is based in New Delhi, which is controlled by Exclusive Motors. As far as global perspective is concerned, the company efficiently maintains 125 official dealerships.

Through this facility, the company will offer all the variants of its Gallardo sports car and the Aventador LP700-4. The Indian division of Lamborghini is aiming to sell around 20 cars during this year and 50 cars by the end of 2015. Lamborghini has recently unveiled a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), Urus at the Beijing Motor Show, which is believed to emerge as a best-seller for the company, after it goes for the production. The Indian auto market acknowledges SUV and the buyers here are quite keen to try their hand over powerful cars. Along with sportscars, the showrooms of Lamborghini will also offer a complete range of accessories, which starts from t-shirts and caps to coffee mugs as well as scale models.

On the launch ceremony, Mr Stephen Winkelmann, CEO and President, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., said, “Lamborghini has always eyed the Indian market with a lot of interest. The past year saw the market potential and realised being in one centre alone will not be enough. Therefore we chose the financial capital as our second destination. We plan to sell around 50 cars by 2015. We have identified three locations including, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. But we will first study the demand in these markets.”

Considering the demand of Lamborghini cars in India, the company was required to open its second showroom in the market. Along with this, the company is also seeing to open a new outlet in South India. Mainly because its parent company, Volkswagen, has carved a top notch in the market, Lamborghini has framed a strategy to establish its own NSC (National Sales Company) in India. Porsche, which was taken over by Volkswagen group in 2010, will also introduce its National Sales Company in India under the Volkswagen brand.

Lamborghini has line-up around 8 to 10 models of Aventador for the Indian market and there is already a handful amount of buyers who are enticed to experience the enthralling 700 bhp produced by the efficient engine of this car. Aventador is a two-seater coupe, which holds a powerful 6.5 litre V12 engine, which will be offered with a price tag of around Rs. 4 crores, fairly hefty for this market. The car is expected to be introduced in the Indian auto market within coming three years and the company aims to sell only 40-50 cars.
