The Centenario has been built to celebrate the hundredth birthday of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the man who got the Italian tractor maker to build sportscars. Based on their flagship supercar, the Aventador, 40 examples of the Centenario will be built – 20 coupes and 20 roadsters. The Lamborghini Centenario, with looks like that, will certainly be a showstopper at the Geneva Motor Show.

For what can be called a gaffe by Lamborghini, the video of the Centenario that was uploaded remained public for some time, enough for us to get a glimpse of the machine. And no, we have no complaints. We love the way this car looks – not as overtly loud as the Veneno but not subtle by any means. Driving by in one of these will certainly make heads turn and it doesn’t matter if you are driving by in Beverly Hills or Central London in summer or the Marina Bay.

Out on an open road, you have the roaring 6.5-litre V12 belting out 770 horsepower. It zooms past the 100kmph mark in just 2.8 seconds, 0-300kmph in 23.5 seconds to a top speed of over 350kmph. This is hyper-car territory and the Centenario is possibly the only pure naturally-aspirated powertrain to be in there.

All of the 40 cars to be built, have already been sold out which makes the price tag obsolete. But with the kind of rarity and performance, the buyers must have shelled out a couple of million dollars at least to get the Centenario in their garage.
