      KTM to introduce new-gen Duke and RC 200 and 390

      KTM will be introducing the new Duke and RC 200 and 390 sometime towards the end of 2016. This is likely to have an all-new platform that will be a lot more flexible than the currently sold Duke and RCs. The automaker will be phasing out the current platform design and has already designed a new chassis from scratch.

      KTM has stormed the Indian market with its Duke and RC bikes and this has raised the ante even further. The investment for the new platform development is made by KTM and Bajaj and the new-gen bikes will have a lot more features and a lot more flexibility in the riding dynamics too.

      KTM had unveiled the 2016 RC 390 at EICMA that included several new updates like Ride by Wire, updated brakes and even a new side mounted exhaust. So, the new KTMs will get a substantial upgrade and even a lot more features too. Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM stated that the current bikes will gradually be phased off by the end of 2016.

      KTM’s new strategy will be get new platform that will even have the Adventure range of bikes and even bigger engine displacement bikes like the Super Duke 1290, 1290 Super Adventure etc and even looking at enhancing local manufacturing of mid-sized bikes like the 80cc parallel twin bikes.
