KTM has once again proved that its strategies are at par with the leading motorcycle brands. It had recently launched RC 200 and RC 390 in India at lucrative prices. Undoubtedly, the showrooms are expected to witness long queue for these bikes. The Boss of KTM Stefan Pierer was present at the launch of these two bikes In India. He hinted at the possibility of India being a huge market for its products. As a result, there is also a probability of introducing superbikes of this brand and the Adventure series in India. Though, the launch will definitely take some time, but the plans for the same are in the pipeline.

However, the high-capacity models of KTM will be brought to India via the Completely Knocked down (CKD) route. This means that the bikes will be assembled in India and only the parts will be imported. Also, these types of systems create scope for employment as the entire assembling part will have to be done within the country. As of now, the company is trying to understand the tax structure and the costs of importing parts. The Austrian brand looks forward to launch the Adventure bike in India initially, following which it will also launch Enduro and Motocross segments. Incidentally, there is a possibility of the Adventure 1050 to be launched in India, as well that releases worldwide in November.

However, the launch of Super Duke 1290 will definitely take some time in India. The bottleneck for this delay is solely the poor road conditions in India. Thus, fans will have to wait for the launch of this monster bike in India. There is no chance of the Duke 690 to come in India as the company is planning to replace this model with a two-cylinder powered machine.

Stefan said that the highly competitive market throws quite some challenge to the brand and it has to work steadily to improve its image. Some of the bikes of KTM were already put to test on Indian roads and KTM Adventure 1190 was spotted in Pune last year. KTM will definitely look forward to expand its network in the near future.
