The Austrian bike maker KTM is riding high on the success of its Duke 200 and would be hoping to continue the same success story with the new Duke 390. The bike would be locally assembled at Bajaj Auto's Chakan facility near Pune.

Upon its launch in India, the KTM Duke 390 would be pitted against the likes of Honda CBR 250 ABS and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The new Duke 390 is expected carry an introductory price tag under Rs. 2 lakh, which would make it one of the most affordable sports bikes available in the country. At present, the CBR 250R and Ninja 300 bikes come with retail values close to Rs. 1.7 lakh and Rs. 3.5 lakh, respectively.
