Bajaj Auto Limited has officially declared the launch of KTM 390 Duke in Chennai. Reportedly, the motorcycle was introduced at an event organised at the exclusive dealership of KTM at Adyar. It must be noted that the KTM 390 Duke happens to be the second model from the Austrian auto maker KTM under the partnership of Bajaj-KTM.
At the launch ceremony, the Vice President at Bajaj Probiking, Amit Nandi was quoted as saying, “With its powerful engine, light weight and easy handling the 390 Duke will be equally rewarding both for the professional rider as well as the enthusiast. KTM is a sharply differentiated brand which in a short span of time is the largest selling premium motorcycle brand in India. This position would be further strengthened with the launch of the 390 Duke.”
On this new launch, industry experts are of a view that the bike has been equipped with a performance oriented engine, which has a displacement of 373 cc. The maximum power churned out by the engine of this model stands at 43 bhp with an alarming torque of 35 Nm. Other key highlights of KTM 390 Duke are agile handling, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Metzeler tyres, aluminium swing arm and aluminium alloy wheels, amid others. All these features make KTM 390 a powerful bike, which seems ideal for racing and city as well as highway rides.
Also, with a 373 cc engine, this bike has been placed in the mid size sports bike segment of the Indian market. It must be noted that the bike will be exclusively sold and serviced across the 71 exclusive showrooms and service centres of the company. On this new bike, industry experts also said that the power to weight ratio of 300 PS per tone is too impressive for a bike like this as this proportion seems unmatched from products belonging to higher or lower segments than the 390 Duke. It must be noted that this type of power to weight ratio offers an impressive pick up, top speed and manoeuvrability to the driver.
