KTM has added another Duke to the India range: the 250 Duke. It plugs the price and performance gap between the 2017 Duke range that includes the 200 Duke and 390 Duke quite admirably, at Rs 1.73 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

KTM 250 Duke launched at Rs 173 lakh

The small KTM Duke range is made in India and exported globally, right from 125cc to 390cc. Some countries have legislation that heavily tax motorcycles that displace more than 250cc, and thus the 250 Duke was born. It met the need for performance without the massive jump in price that moving from a 200 Duke to a 390 Duke would mean. With the 2017 390 Duke moving ever more upmarket, it opened up a considerable gap in price between the 200 Duke and 390 Duke in the Indian market, and the 250 Duke with its 30bhp and 24Nm also sits comfortably between the two in terms of performance. It gets the new, bigger 13.5-litre fuel tank from its bigger brother but no ABS, like the small sibling.
