With effect from July 21, Volkswagen shall have Mr. KK Swamy as new Managing Director and Vice President for its Indian operations. The Board of Directors has already given its formal approval for his appointment. He shall head Volkswagen India Private Limited. He shall report to Managing Director and President, Joerg Mueller who is also the Regional representative for India for Volkswagen India Private Limited.
Swamy had recently quit Toyota Kirloskar Motors where he had worked for 11 years and last held the position of Deputy Managing Director. He has more than three decades of experience in the industry and had one of the lead roles in establishment of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited. He had worked with TKM since 1997 and had headed various divisions such as finance, marketing, corporate planning, etc. He has also performed managerial functions at various major engineering companies.
