Kia Picanto, a compact hatchback based on the platform of South Korean auto giant’s Hyundai’s i10, was recently spotted testing on the Indian roads, giving rise to the speculations of its possible launch in the Indian market. Being developed on the platform of i10 hatchback, it carries a number of visual similarities with this popular car.

However, the aggression content in both styling and designing of the Kia Picanto is much higher as compared to the Hyundai’s i10. What make the front profile of this car more aggressive is its bigger headlamps, large front air dam, and a powerful looking distinctive grille.

It is to be mentioned here that Kia is a youth oriented sister brand of the South Korea based leading car maker Hyundai. In the global market, Kia offers a more youth-focused alternative to the conventional and family oriented Hyundai cars.

The testing of Picanto model in the country indicates that the company could mark its debut in the Indian auto market with initially entering in the small hatchback segment, similar to the down to top strategy has been adopted by its sister brand Hyundai.

The other Kia models that could find a place in the India portfolio of the firm include Optima premium sedan, Cerato sedan, and Sportage & Sorento SUVs.
