      Kawasaki Z250 launched priced at Rs 2.99 lakh

      Bajaj has launched Kawasaki Z250 and ER-6n in domestic market today. Priced at Rs 2.99 lakhs, (ex-showroom, New Delhi) Kawasaki Z250 is the most affordable bike in the two-wheeler’s product portfolio. Z250 shares styling cues from its elder sibling Z800 priced much higher than it is. The new Z250 underpins the tube diamond steel frame and measures around 2010 mm long, 750 mm wide and 1020 high. The vehicle has a wheelbase of 1400 mm, 145 mm of ground clearance and has 168 kg of weight with a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres.

      In the front is the 37 mm telescopic fork and at rear is the Bottom-link Uni-Tank with gas-charged shock and 5-way adjustable preload. While a semi-floating 300 mm petal discs have been placed in the front and a 220 mm single petal disc has been placed at the rear.

      Power comes from a liquid-cooled, four stroke, parallel-twin, 249cc, 8 valve DOHC engine. The engine is capable of developing top power output of 32 PS at 11,000 RPM along with peak torque of 21 Nm at 10,000 RPM. A six-speed transmission is matched to the engine. According to the company, the engine is equipped with a sleeveless plated, die-cast aluminium cylinder and lightweight coated pistons that allows reliability.
