Back in January this year Kawasaki had launched the Versys 1000 in the Indian market. This time around, the bikemaker has launched the much-awaited Versys 650 for Rs 6.60 lakh (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). Alongside, Kawasaki has also announced the launch of KLX110 for Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the bike is powered by 112cc engine.
The Kawasaki Versys has been introduced in India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. It gets a 649cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox that generates about 68bhp of power and a peak torque output of about 64Nm. For maximum control, the Versys 650 gets dual 300mm petal discs with dual-piston calipers at the front, while the rear gets single 250mm petal disc with single piston caliper. ABS has been offered as optional.
Rider comfort being a priority, the Versys 650 gets upside down telescopic fork suspension for front, while the rear gets remote adjustable spring with single offset laydown shock absorber. The KLX 110 with off-roading potential is not road-legal in the country and is strictly limited to personal track runs or racing events. The bike comes with drum brakes both on the front as well as rear.
