Bikers in the country have a new reason to cheer this Christmas with the much awaited Kawasaki Versys 650 set for launch on 24th December. The bike being introduced via the CKD route is expected to be priced over Rs 5 lakh. The Versys 650 gets a tourer stance owing to its larger fuel tank and high-mounted front-fairing design.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 649cc engine mated to six-speed gearbox that generates about 68bhp of power and 64Nm of torque. In terms of safety, Kawasaki will be offering ABS as standard. The bike gets 41mm hydraulic telescopic fork with stepless adjustable rebound and preload, while the rear gets single offset laydown shock with remote adjustable spring preload. The new Kawasaki Versys 650 will only be offered in two colours – Green and Black. The bike gets TCBI with electronic advance ignition system. Post launch, the bike could emerge as a strong competitor against theDSK Benelli 600GT.
