Kawasaki Motors India has finally launched the highly rated Versys 1000 in the Indian two-wheeler market. It is the biggest adventure touring bike from the Kawasaki Motors for the Indian market. The touring bike will come in to India via a CBU (Completely Built Units) route, and the Versys 1000 is priced at Rs. 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
Set to rival against the Suzuki V-Strom, the updated Kawasaki Versys 1000 features smarter-looking horizontal headlamps with an air vent tucked. The new fairing will further enhance the aerodynamics, and offers improved protection in wind. . The suspension system of the bike has been tweaked to offer improved riding experience on long run. As standard, the touring bike features 3-way Kawasaki Traction Control system and switchable ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
It is propelled by a 1043cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder and fuel injected engine. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 120bhp and a peak torque of 120Nm at 7,500rpm. Power is transferred to roads via a six-speed gearbox. The braking system of this mean machine comprises of 310mm dual discs up front and a single 250mm disc at the rear. The braking system combined with ABS as standard to offer improved protection on sudden braking.
