Kawasaki seems all prepared to introduce a 300 cc version of its much acclaimed sports bike Ninja in the Indian auto market. Sources closed to the development process revealed that the model will be launched on April 10; however nothing is confirmed by the company officials as of now. Reportedly, the upcoming model will replace the ongoing generation 250 cc model and will feature a new designing language.

Industry experts are of a view that the 2013 Ninja 300 will feature ZX-10R inspired dual head lights, refreshed instrument cluster, floating visor and larger fairing vents, which will help it to establish a new benchmark in the Indian sports bike segment. Moreover, a radiator fan cowl is also expected to be packed within the model, which will dissipate the heat effectively away from its rider. Coming to under the hood figures of the upcoming model, the Ninja 300 will come equipped with a 4-stroke, parallel-twin engine, which will have a displacement of 296 cc.

The maximum power churned out by the engine of this model will stand at 39 bhp, along with a highest torque of 27 Nm, which seems quit enthralling. The fuel injection technology of the model is expected to be standard; however with the incorporation of new throttle valves, the auto maker achieved improvement in the mid range grunt and responsiveness of the engine. Sources revealed that Kawasaki has spent quite much time in developing this 300 cc engine, which also includes the flatter piston crowns that are present in the ongoing generation model.

Other key highlights of the upcoming model are sleeveless die cast cylinders and a specially designed cylinder which remains parallel to the 7.8 mm longer stroke. In order to provide a substantial power to the rear wheel of the bike, a 6-speed transmission system has been incorporated within the model, which supports aggressive downshifting backed by a slipper clutch system. It must be noted that the aggressive downshifting technology is usually found in the high end bikes, which has been packed within the upcoming Ninja 300.

However, the price of the yet to be launched bike has not been revealed by the auto maker and thus, its future in the price sensitive Indian auto market cannot be determined as of now. With the launch of a new model in sports bike space, industry experts are of a view that Kawasaki will surely grab the attention of a large number of Indian auto aficionados.
