Kahn Design has taken the Land Rover Defender to a whole new level. Earlier, the British company had showcased whacky iterations of the Defender in the form of the Huntsman Pickup and the G63 AMG 6x6 rivalling Huntsman 6x6 Defender concept. This time around the company has gone a step further and teased a soft top version of the Huntsman 6x6. The new car will take on another mad offering from Mercedes-Benz again, the Maybach G650 Landaulet.

Now this might be a ‘Landie’, but the standard 120bhp, 2.2 litre diesel just wouldn’t be able to keep up with Kahn Design’s madness. So the standard motor was swapped with a GM-sourced 6.2-litre LS3 V8 with a lot more power, 430bhp to be specific. Power is sent to all six wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. It also gets high- and low- range gearing and locking differentials, as well as upgrades to the suspension and braking packages compared to the standard car.
Expect the soft top to cost more than its hard top version that’s over Rs. 3.20 crore. More details should be out in the coming weeks.
