Jeep India has revealed all the details of the Wrangler SUV by updating its official website ahead of the July launch. Jeep will offer only one variant of the very capable SUV in India powered by a diesel engine and four-wheel drive.
The Wrangler is a five-seater with 884litres if boot space. It is designed to be a capable off-roader with 238mm ground clearance and dedicated equipment like differential locks and solid axel, to tackle all sorts of obstacles on the road. Jeep will offer the Wrangler in India with the 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 197bhp and 460Nm of torque. It uses the five-speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 system that sends equal amount of power to all four wheels.
Inside, the Wrangler will get touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, the music system has usable 28G hard drive, the front seats are heated and there is tyre pressure monitoring for convenience. Dual-airbags in front, traction control, ESP, hill ascend and descent control are standard features for safety. Jeep will import the Wrangler to India as a CBU and at the time of the launch will offer it in five exterior colours – – black, bright white, billet silver metallic, granite crystal, firecracker red and rhino.
