The three-door and five-door variants of the Jeep Wrangler have been spotted on test in the country, ahead of its anticipated debut later this year. The test mules with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) stickers indicate that it is likely to be introduced sometime soon in the country.

Although powertrain options are not known, for now, it is believed that the vehicle will continue to be powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine. The version sold in the international market also gets a 2.0-litre gasoline option, however, this might be introduced at a later date. Reports have also indicated that the vehicle might get a 2.2-litre diesel engine option at the time of its launch. The Wrangler is expected to come mated to an eight-speed automatic unit.

Based on what can be seen, the Wrangler has received the traditional styling element with a seven-slat grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. The test mule also features LED headlamps, while the rear gets spare wheel mounting. Speaking of features, the vehicle is expected to get Uconnect 4C NAV 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, passive keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start and more.
