With just weeks remaining for unveiling of country’s biggest automotive event 2016 Auto Expo, Jeep has made an official announcement stating it would be officially introducing the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee in India. Recently, the automaker had also organized a private showcase event for its customers in the India. In order to mark its presence in the country, Jeep shall offer its models via Fiat dealers located in 15 large cities. To begin with, the company intends on selling about 1,400 - 2,000 units which would gradually increase over time.
The Jeep Wrangler would be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol trim would be offered with a 3.6-litre V6 engine that would generate about 275bhp of power and 358Nm of torque. The diesel variant comes with a 2.8-litre engine that generates about 197 bhp of power and 451 Nm of torque. The Jeep Cherokee would be offered with a 6.4-litre engine that churns out 475bhp of power and 644Nm of torque.
