The Jeep Grand Commander will finally make its debut this year and ahead of that, images of the cars have surfaced on the interweb. It was showcased as the Jeep Yuntu concept last year.

The leaked patent drawings indicated that the Commander would stick close to the concept car and most of it has stayed the same with the exception of the rear roof line which has taken the traditional lines seen in the Cherokee and even the Compass.

The China spec model gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol which can be had in a 234bhp or a 265bhp state of tune. Both models will only be offered with a 10-speed automatic. Sources indicate that the car is 4.8-meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.8-meters.

After the Chinese market, we believe that the Grand Commander will make its way to the US where it will revive the Grand Wagoneer name but here, it will be offered both in 5 seat and 7 seat configurations.
