The Jeep Compass has been unveiled ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The debut marks the start of production at Jeep’s plant in Brazil while for the Indian market this car will be produced at Fiat India’s Ranjangaon plant from mid-2017 and will be the American automaker’s third model in India once it is launched.

      2017 Jeep Compass revealed

The official photos reveal that this new Jeep Compass mimics the looks of its elder sibling the Cherokee/Grand Cherokee which is no bad thing considering that the latter has become a decent success. Noticeable Jeep touches include the 7 slat-grille, contrast coloured bonnet and roof, softly flared wheel arches and stylised tail lamps. The cabin has been shown for the first time and the picture reveals things like leather upholstery, climate control and touchscreen infotainment system. Jeep has said that the SUV will be offered in 17 different powertrains of which the options will vary depending on the market.

      India bound 2017 Jeep compass

As we had said in the beginning, this is an important car for Jeep in India as it will be their first locally produced model. Production is expected to begin in mid-2017 and we believe that they will price the car in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh putting it in competition with the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and possibly the Skoda Kodiaq once it is launched.
